RECREATIONAL

Gymnastics provides an excellent foundation in strength, balance, coordination
and agility for all sports, not just athletes interested in pursuing competitive gymnastics.

Troy Gym offers rolling enrollment. Students can join classes at any time during the month and will have the same class schedule until you tell us otherwise. Tuition will be automatically charged on the first of every month.
To drop a class, Troy Gym requires written notification. Send an email to drop@troygym.com seven days before the first of the month to ensure your credit card will not be charged the month's tuition. The email must contain the parent's name, student's name, and the class you will be dropping.
All recreational classes are held in TG1 unless otherwise noted.
GIRLS CLASSES

BEGINNER
Ages 6-7, 8-10, 11+
This entry level class teaches fundamental gymnastics skills on the four girls' artistic events (vault, bars, beam, and floor).
No previous gymnastics experience is required.
The beginner girls' gymnastics class, an hour and 25-minute class is the first level in the recreational program. Gymnasts will begin building their foundational
gymnastics skills at each event. This includes basic rolls, cartwheels and handstands on floor, balance, confidence, core strength, basic skills on beams, springboard drills on
vault, and upper body strength on the bars.
In addition to the four artistic events, gymnasts will work towards improving their flexibility, learning gymnastics terms and
shapes, proper landing techniques, and safety falls.

Increase comfort on equipment and overall confidence
When a gymnast has mastered all the beginner skills, they will be asked to sign up for an evaluation for the Intermediate level
INTERMEDIATE
Ages 6-7, 8-10, 11+
This class focuses on developing a more challenging progression of skills that gymnasts
acquired in the previous level on the four girls' artistic events (vault, bars, beam, and
floor).
Evaluation required.

Introduce more challenging skills

Teach fundamentals required for competitive teams

Increase comfort on equipment and overall confidence
When a gymnast has learned all the intermediate skills, The will be asked to sign up for an evaluation for the Advanced level.

ADVANCED 1 & 2
Ages 6+
These classes are the highest levels offered in the recreational program. The goal is to challenge everyone through new skills and develop skills acquired in the previous level
on the four girls' artistic events (vault, bars, beam, and floor).
Evaluation required.

BOYS CLASSES

BOYS 5-6
Ages 5-6
This class teaches basic skills on parallel bars, rings, pommel horse, floor and more:

Develop overall strength and flexibility

Introduce a hard work ethic that can be applied outside of gymnastics

Promote the importance of health and fitness in everyday life

BOYS 7+
Ages 7+
This class teaches basic skills on parallel bars, rings, pommel horse, floor and more:

85 minute class

Focus on building self-confidence and overcoming fears

Develop overall strength and flexibility

Introduce a hard work ethic that can be applied outside of gymnastics

Promote the importance of health and fitness in everyday life
COED CLASSES

TUMBLING 1
Ages 5-7, 8+
This 55 minute class teaches basic skills on floor such as rolls, cartwheels, and handstands.

TUMBLING 2
Ages 5+
This 55 minute class teaches skills on the floor such as back walkovers and back handsprings.
Evaluation required.

TUMBLING 3
Ages 5+
This 55 minute class teaches skills on the floor such as roundoff back handsprings and back tucks.
Evaluation required.

TRAMPOLINE & TUMBLING (T&T)
Ages 5+
This 55 minute class utilizes the spring floor, trampoline and double mini trampoline. Beginner, intermediate and advanced options available.
Held in TG3.
